I am so glad that I was born and raised in South Carolina because we definitely can recognize good food when we taste it! If you know me then you know I LOVE to talk about food! I am a total foodie at heart and I want to start sharing my culinary experiences with y’all!!!

I love trying new cuisines and restaurants! This past weekend my family and I were able to experience The Darling Oyster in Charleston, SC for the first time. We have been told for several months that if you love seafood that it was a must to visit! And OH DARLING!… we are so glad we did! We had a meal that was fit for King Triton himself!

There were 3 menu items that were a must to try… The Captain (aka the best Bloody Mary in Charleston), Chowder Fries, and the Lobster & King Crab Roll! We thought we had died and went to seafood heaven! Everything was savory and devine!

The Captain came out with a HUGE crab leg stuck on the side of the glass, a hushpuppy, 3 shrimp, along with a few other goodies…. I can see now why it’s called the Captain! The chowder fries were my favorite… as soon as the warm chowder was poured on top of the home style cut fries, you could just feel your mouth start to water! They were DELICIOUS!! Now we couldn’t go to a place called The Darling Oyster and not order oysters! Oysters aren’t my favorite thing in the world, HOWEVER these oysters can change someone’s mind! We ordered the James River (larger ones) and the Beausoleil (smaller ones) and WOW!! The Beausoleils were small and buttery and if you placed them on a saltine cracker with a little bit of horseradish and hot sauce they became exquisite! Although I had no idea how my stomach was going to intake anymore food, we still managed to try the Lobster & King Crab Roll! Guys! Nothing is more perfect than the combination of lobster meat and crab meat stuffed into a toasted bread roll and add on a side of sweet pepper relish grits and you have yourself a Southern Feast!

So if you are a seafood lover like the Priester’s are then you must make a stop to The Darling Oyster the next time you are in Charleston, SC! Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and even better food!!!
