PATCH WERK

The patches are BACK! I am so excited that the patch trend is becoming popular and you are starting to see it everywhere! They are on jackets, pants, shirts, purses…you name it, they are on it! My favorite though is the patch denim jacket! I am a total denim girl!… and when you combine denim jackets with the patch trend, I am just in clothes heaven!

Today on the blog I am teaming up with ALMOST FAMOUS to bring you this super cute patch denim jacket and how to style it!!

I can’t get over how cute and fun this denim jacket is!! It sort of reminds me of something I would make (or try to make) or wear as a kid. They’re just so much fun and you can throw them on over any outfit whether its a simple white tee and a pair of ripped skinny jeans or jazz it up with color, like I did here!

For todays look I wanted to make it extra fun to go along with how fun the jacket is! First off, lets chat about this patch jacket!! For my jackets I always like a size larger, so I normally order a medium instead of a small because I am all for the drape it over the shoulder look. With a little bit larger size makes it easier for you to do that and you can still wear it normal and it won’t look like its swallowing you! I love the particular patch work on this jacket, it almost gives off a varsity vibe!

Because it gives off Varsity to me, that’s how I wanted to style it! I sorta drew my color palette from the “8” patch. I wanted to utilize red, navy, and white! The red is very apparent in the jacket so I knew I wanted to bring out that particular color in my top as well as in my accessories. I went with a form fitting red bustier top and paired it with a pair of white denim shorts. For shoes I wanted a red shoe, I found these in my closet (I believe they are from Aldo like 6 years ago), but I liked that they were a red strappy wedge heel.

For accessories I decided to go with no earrings but instead a very wide navy and white choker, just to keep it fun and to bring out the navy and white! Plus I didn’t want to take away from all the patch work on the jacket. Sometimes less jewelry is better (key word sometimes). I’ve been obsessed lately with small handbags, especially this red one that I got from TJMAXX for only $35.

With majority of my looks I try to keep with the same makeup look, neutral brown/pink eye with a soft lip…well I have been dying to do a bold lip with an outfit AND I finally had the perfect outfit to do it. To complete the whole look I decided to do a bright and bold red lip! I am using Makeup Forever color Artist Rouge! It’s seriously the PERFECT red shade!!
