HAPPY NEW YEAR YOU GUYS!!

Y’all all know the saying New Year, New Me… well for 2018 I do not want to be a “new” person, I want to be a BETTER person! I want to strive this year to be great in all aspects of my life! I want to be more open to new experiences and relationships, more hands on, focused, and vulnerable with my business and career, and more present in the moment. So I thought in my first blog post of 2018 I would kick things off by explaining some ways to stay motivated with your goals for this year and how not to give up on those New Year’s resolutions we all set for ourselves!

  1. Ask yourself ” Why am I doing this?” In order to better our lives we must WANT to better our lives! You have to be passionate and focused on making a change! Remind yourself each day your reasoning on WHY you are doing this!
  2. Write down your goals and visualize your success! Create a vision board and outline the goals you want to obtain this year! Your mindset is your most powerful tool in order to stay motivated! Visualizing your achievements can really make the difference.
  3. Give yourself a realistic time line to accomplish your goals.
  4. Get organized and invest in a planner!! This will make it easier to track your progress!
  5. For workout & body goals take a full length picture of yourself weekly to visually see your progression! Trust me as soon as you start to see your weekly transformation it will drive you to look even better the next week! I did this each time I competed and it’s very rewarding to see your hard work pay off each week!
  6. Find yourself a theme song!! Mine this year is Unstoppable by Sia! I have it as my alarm clock each morning and I make sure I listen to this powerful and motivating song at least 3 times a day!
  7. Make the journey enjoyable! Lets be real, we are not going to accomplish something over night. It does take time to see results but if you make your journey enjoyable and do what works best for you then the success will be even sweeter!
  8. Commit to a positive mindset! THIS IS SO IMPORTANT! You are working hard and you deserve some appreciation. Pat yourself on the back and remind yourself how proud you are! I am extremely hard on myself. I am the biggest critic of my life and I forget sometimes to take a step back and appreciate all I have accomplished so far. What I like to do is write inspirational quotes and sayings on sticky notes and post them around my room to remind me to stay positive and not to be so hard on myself!

We all set resolutions and goals for the new year, and yes its hard sometimes to stick with those goals and not give up.. trust me I have been there. However, it’s important to remind ourselves why we decided to set these resolutions in the first place… and it’s because we want to better ourselves!!! For 2018 let’s hold ourselves accountable for these resolutions and let this year be our year to be our BEST selves!!!
